Cornerman captures system audio during live interviews to coach you in real time. Because that's sensitive territory, we hold ourselves to a strict privacy standard. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, what we send to third parties, and what we do not store.

1. What Cornerman captures

When you start an interview session, Cornerman captures audio from your system output (the interviewer's voice as it plays through your speakers or headphones) and, optionally, from your microphone. Capture only happens while a session is explicitly active — you start it and you stop it.

2. What we do not store

We do not store audio recordings. Audio is held in memory only long enough to be streamed to our transcription provider, and is discarded immediately after. There is no archive of your interview audio, on our servers or anywhere else.

3. Third parties that touch your data

  • Deepgram— Receives a live audio stream during active sessions to produce real-time transcripts. Deepgram's retention terms apply to that stream.
  • MiniMax — Receives short text snippets (recent transcript context plus a slice of your prep materials) so it can generate coaching hints. Audio is never sent to MiniMax.
  • Clerk — Handles authentication. Clerk receives your email and any profile fields you choose to provide.
  • Stripe — Handles payments for paid plans. Cornerman never sees or stores your card details.
  • Google Analytics — Used on the marketing site (trycornerman.com) for aggregated traffic analytics. Not loaded inside the desktop app or your interview sessions.

4. What stays on your machine

Your prep materials (resume, job descriptions, notes), session transcripts, and post-interview summaries are stored locally in a SQLite database on your device. They are not uploaded to Cornerman's servers. You can delete any session at any time.

5. Account data we do store

On our servers we store the minimum needed to run your account: your email and authentication identifiers (via Clerk), your subscription status (via Stripe), and aggregate usage counts (e.g. number of sessions this month) so we can enforce your plan's quota.

6. Cookies

The marketing site uses essential cookies for authentication and a small set of analytics cookies (Google Analytics) for aggregated traffic measurement. The Cornerman desktop app does not use cookies.

7. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us. Because session transcripts live on your device, deleting them is one click in the app.

8. Changes

If we materially change how Cornerman handles your data, we'll update this page and note the change at the top.
